As to what these witnesses saw, it is difficult to determine. It was not any known aircraft. The enormous size of the object, its complete silence, and its ability to travel at high rates of speed and also to remain stationary or travel at slow speeds, is not explained by any known aircraft. The smallest size calculated from witness descriptions was 524 feet and most of the calculations based on approximate distance of the object and witness descriptions of degrees of sky covered by the object indicated an object closer to 1,000 ft. in size. Twice, radar picked up an unknown object flying at 19,00-2,100 mph. Admittedly, it could have been a coincidental radar hit...but in both cases that coincidence occured when a witness saw a very fast moving object in the same direction as an object painted by radar. Twice, radar tracked slow moving objects, for extended periods of time, that were very near the witness' location, in the direction described by the witness, and at approximately the same time that the witness saw the unknown object. It is very difficultto dismiss witness testimony that is corroborated by radar. And to further augment the strangeness of these events, radar tracked one of those two objects for over an hour as it traveled directly toward Crawford Ranch. The authors cannot comment on the source or origin of this object, but it is clear to the authors that the unknown object was real and not imaginary.

Interpreting the MUFON Stephenville UFO radar report: What does it say?

What are some of the key points in the report released Thursday, July 10, 2008, that was prepared by Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) investigators? The “special research report” is titled “Stephenville Lights: A Comprehensive Radar and Witness Report Study Regarding the Events of January 8, 2008, 4 pm to 8 pm.” The report’s authors, Glen Schulze and Robert Powell, are identified as highly-trained experts in technical and scientific fields relevant to this investigation. Schulze in particular is reported to have an extensive background in radar systems. Although the report itself includes many sections of a highly technical nature, much of the language in it is plain-spoken.

POINTS TO CONSIDER

According to Schulze and Powell, the following elements emerged in their investigation:
1) Several radar facilities in the region surrounding the Stephenville, Dublin and Selden region provide radar coverage for that area. Some of this data was provided to the investigators.

2) Military commands in the area did provide some helpful information, but other information did not seem to be forthcoming in response to Freedom of Information Act requests by the investigators.

3) Several military aircraft were in the skies the evening of Jan. 8, 2008, and were conducting flights in the nearby military operating area (MOA). Some of these military aircraft had transponders turned on and some had transponders turned off. Some military flights veered into civilian airspace over the Stephenville region. There is no immediate explanation for this.

4) The investigators suspect that an Airborne Warning and Command System (AWACS) aircraft was circling the area, based on radar data.

5) A very large unidentified craft or object was detected by radar. According to the report, “This object had no transponder and was tracked on radar for over an hour. Most of the time, the object was either stationary, or moving at speeds of less than 60 mph. At 7:32 pm, the object was tracked accelerating to 532 mph in 30 seconds and then slowing to 49 mph only 10 seconds later.”

6) The location and direction of flight of this object correlated with the reports from reliable eyewitnesses on the ground.

Alien Visitors Discriminate Against Planet Earth

(STEPHENVILLE, TX) - The first verified alien visitors to this central Texas town fled quietly after finding out that their parents were right about earthlings, said one UFO crewmember in a brief interview.
Uiuaiuegti, 16 ("approximation of earth-years relative to our biological cycle"), of distant planet Eaeoejni, claims that he and his cohort Ijvheoedt "borrowed" the intergalactic cruiser for a trip away after an argument over the correct removal of garbage from their alien home. The discussion became heated, the authentication tokens were on the reticular plateau, so Uiuaiuegti grabbed them and picked up Ijvheoedt for a joyride.
What they found, however, confirmed their elders warnings.
Speaking through a transputer, Uiuaiuegti said, "They had always told us Earth was a primitive planet where the stupid ruled through their supremacy of numbers, and the intelligent labored on boring tasks to purchase their way out of slavery to the dumb. They said that on this planet, every word is a lie, and those who recognize the lie are called geniuses only if they don't mention the lie in public, because people prefer a painful lie to the risk of new adventure." Uiuaiuegti shook the combined olfactory/visual appendage we might call a "head."
Ijvheoedt chipped in with a woeful "This planet is hopelessly corrupt, and this is why our technology seems so distant to you. If you spent a few months removing your parasites, and then directed your energies at something more productive than selling each other fanciful visions for personal profit, the stars would be yours. We have seen natural selection in action, and we recognize that our parents were right about Earth, and we would like to go home now."
With that the spacecraft vanished in a Texas sky then vanquished to television antennas, factory chimneys, fighter jets, and advertising.
